Slowmade Collective Brooch Swap
2026 Slowmade Collective Brooch Swap
In the days leading up to Valentine’s, inside the Slowmade Collective, we did something simple and beautiful.
Those that wanted to participate and share some love made brooches for a member.
Each piece carried hours at the bench, thoughtful decisions, and that familiar hum of I hope she loves this. This swap happened Secret Santa style and when the packages arrived? It felt like unwrapping someone else’s hours at the bench.
There’s something powerful about coming together in community like this. We spend so much of our days working alone — soldering, sawing, polishing, packing — that it’s easy to forget we’re part of something bigger. The swap reminded us that our craft doesn’t just connect us to materials… it connects us to each other.
Brooches feel especially fitting. They’re expressive, personal, a little unexpected, and best of all they rest close to the heart.
This is what the Slowmade Collective is about.
Not just building businesses — but building relationships.
Not just refining technique — but sharing the love of craft in real time.
Grateful for every maker who showed up and stitched a little more connection into this community.
