Ep 102: Beth Judge - When It’s Finally Your Turn to Come Home to Your Creative Self

Beth Judge has been connected to jewelry for most of her life, beginning with a metalsmithing class in high school and eventually a degree in metalsmithing from Tyler School of Art.

Her path has been full and winding. Beth has worked as a bench jeweler, become a graduate gemologist, taught art, raised children, supported a family restaurant business, opened a brick-and-mortar studio space in Hopewell, New Jersey, and continued returning to the creative work that has always been part of her.

In this conversation, Beth shares honestly about the seasons of life when our own dreams and needs get placed on hold, especially as women, mothers, partners, teachers, caretakers, and business owners. We talk about what it means to finally make room for yourself again, to give yourself permission to play, and to claim the artist you’ve always been.

We also talk about Beth’s shared studio space, teaching art to middle schoolers, the way stones guide her work, her growing interest in enamel, and how slowmade has become less about rushing toward a finished piece and more about enjoying the gift of making.
